Led by Bria Holmes' 21 points, Hillhouse beat St. John the Baptist (N.Y) 52-41 today at the She Got Next Tournament in Union, N.J.

Holmes earned tournament MVP honors. Courtney Brown added six points, 15 rebounds and seven blocks. Takerra Williams had 10 points and 14 rebounds.

The Academics outscored the New York City school 15-5 in the final quarter.

Ranked No. 2 in the Register Top 10 poll, Hillhouse has now won seven straight and beat Mercy, Norwich Free Academy and St. John Baptist in its last three.

Also, Morgan handed Portland its second loss of the season with a 43-40 win. Amanda Cullen led the Huskies with 13 points.
