Lauralton Hall-Pomperaug Afterthoughts
Lauralton Hall coach Steve Schuler couldn't have predicted Tuesday night's game against Pomperaug any better.
He said it would much different from the first meeting. It was. Pomperaug coasted to a 72-52 win over the Crusaders, which beat the Panthers 39-32 earlier in the year.
He said Pomperaug's Katie Cizynski and Lauralton Hall's Keylantra Langley would both get theirs. He was right. Both picked apart the opposing defense and finished with 23 points each.
He said it would come down to the secondary players. Langley didn't get much help. As for Cizynksi, Nicole Welton and Morgan Manz both finished in double figures.
Both teams moved to 8-1.
Schuler also predicted this wouldn't be the last time the two SWC powerhouses will meet. He'll likely be right about that, too, setting up a potential must-see conference championship game.
