Former Wilbur Cross standout and Boston University guard Chantell Alford earned America East Rookie of the Year honors and also became the first freshman in 15 years to earn all-conference first-team honors.

Alford is averaging 15.3 points and 4.9 rebounds this season, and is 27 points away from breaking the school-scoring mark by a freshman. She currently has 425 points.
