Ellen Rich finished with 14 points, 15 rebounds, four steals and four assists, and was named tournament MVP, as top-seeded Hamden Hall beat No. 3 Vermont Academy 51-28 Sunday in the New England Prep School Class D girls’ basketball championship at Dedham, Mass.


It’s Hamden Hall’s first girls’ basketball title.

Dreisen Heath added 22 points, six steals and three assists for the Hornets (23-5).
