FRIDAY'S SCOUTING REPORT: Missy Bailey and Cheshire start season

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT CONFERENCE
Sheehan (1-0) at No. 10 Hillhouse (1-0), Hillhouse Gymnasium, New Haven.
Game note: Joelle Mark Anthony had 21 points and 11 rebounds in Sheehan’s season opening win over Hamden.
Last season: Did not play each other last season.
Hand (1-0) at Cheshire (0-0), Cheshire High East Gym, Cheshire.
Game note: Season-opener for Missy Bailey and the Rams.
Last season: Did not play last season.
Lyman Hall (1-0) at Foran (0-1), FHS Gymnasium, Milford.
Game note: Taylor Ceballos had 25 points and 14 rebounds in a losing effort to Career in the opener.

Shelton (0-1) at Law (0-1), JLHS Gymnasium, Milford.
Game note: Both teams looking for their first win
Last season: Shelton won 58-53 in lone meeting.
Amity (1-0) at Guilford (1-0), Kenefick Gymnasium at GHS, Guilford.
Game notes: Both teams come in after double-digit wins to start the season.

East Haven (0-1) at  No. 3 Mercy (1-0), Mercy Gymnasium, Middletown.
Game note: Mercy’s Maria Weselyj made four 3-pointers in a season-opening win last game.

No. 1 Career Magnet (1-0) at Sacred Heart Academy (0-1), SHA Gymnasium, Hamden.
Game note: Sacred Heart Academy looked rusty in its first game. This is a barometer of how good the Pacers really are.

Wilbur Cross (0-1) at West Haven (0-1), WHHS Gymnasium, West Haven.
Game note: Jayva Johnson scored 23 of her team’s 35 points in West Haven’s 48-35 loss to Lyman Hall.

Branford (0-1) at Hamden (0-1), HHS Gymnasium, Hamden.
Game note: Both teams come in looking to right the ship after double-digit losses Wednesday.
Last season: Did not play last season.
SHORELINE CONFERENCE
East Hampton (0-1) at Portland (0-1), PHS Gymnasium, Portland.

Game note: East Hampton lost 29-26 to Valley Regional Wednesday.
Last season: Portland won 57-19 in lone meeting.
Old Saybrook (1-0) at Haddam-Killingworth (1-0), HKHS Gymnasium, Higganum.
Game note: H-K edged Morgan in an early season battle of SLC contenders.
Last season: Old Saybrook won 52-49 in lone meeting.
Old Lyme (0-1) at Hale Ray (1-0), HRHS Gymnasium, Moodus.
Game note: Hale Ray got by North Branford 50-47 Wednesday.
Last season: Teams split with Hale Ray winning 53-43 and Old Lyme winning 36-30.
NAUGATUCK VALLEY LEAGUE
St. Paul Catholic (1-0) at Ansonia (0-0), AHS Gymnasium, Ansonia at 6 p.m.
Game note: Season-opener for the Chargers
Last season: Ansonia won twice by an average of 9.5 points per game.
Watertown (1-0) at Derby (0-1), DHS Vitello Gymnasium, Derby at 6 p.m.
Game note: Derby lost 62-12 to St. Paul Catholic on Wednesday.
Last season: Watertown won twice by an average of 41.5 points per game.
Wolcott (1-0) at Seymour (0-1), SHS Gymnasium, Seymour
Game note:
Wolcott defeated Woodland 52-43 Wednesday.
Last season: Wolcott won twice by an average of 6.5 points per game.
CONSTITUTION STATE CONFERENCE
O’Brien Tech at Bullard-Havens, BHT Gymnasium, Bridgeport at 6 p.m.
Game note: O’Brien Tech’s only road game until Dec. 28.
Last season: Bullard-Havens won twice by an average of 13 points per game.
